Oh, that is so very, very sad for all of you. I’m glad you have the beautiful pictures of it. I guess tomorrow morning will be an opportunity to practice dealing with disappointment. Good luck with that.

I hope this doesn’t diminish your youngest’s adoration of that naughty puppy. Poor kiddos. At least they have a snow(ice) day to wake up to, maybe that will soften the blow?

Thought I’d let you know that Chris is feeling your pain. He was crushed when I showed him the images of the finished product and then the demolished product.

That makes me so so so so sad. I love dogs so much, but sometimes that can be just horrible horrible.

so sorry! we have our gingerbread castle displayed on top of the fridge for this very reason (it would have been had by grandma’s dog within minutes!). it’s harder to fully enjoy it when it’s not in the middle of things. i’m glad you enjoyed it while it lasted!

i love that your nooooooooo goes off the page into the border – that is how severe this is – hopefully all survived the ordeal with minimal scaring! did the cool ice help geal the wounds?

    Dogs.
    Sweet dogs.
This story reminds me how dogs are teachers to us to live in the moment. Appreciate the moment and what it offers you. Life, much like the time it takes for a gingerbread house to hit the floor, can change ever so quickly.
It was never about the house itself, anyway. Its the time you spent together making it. And now, in addition to that memory, you have the memory of Sally at Christmas trying to steal a bite! :)
