earth day
after a church morning, we headed out to the “adventure trail” to help jerry prepare for his station along an earth day walk sponsored by kauffman museum. the kids were thrilled to help collect live creatures from the creek for observation. i knew i would help with the big net, but i did not anticipate water above my knees as jerry and i trudged to deeper pools while we left the kids stranded on an “island” to watch eliza…wow, good times. eliza and i left early…the kids were thrilled to splash and play in the creek with friends for a of couple hours…
for those of you who know this creek: the greatest gift is that it was flowing!!!

I can’t believe that you were actually IN the creek, and that it was warm enough to be in there. WOW!
our rule has generally been that if the water is flowing, we can go in…when it is stagnant, i get the willies. it was a balmy day…maybe in the 70s?
